Killington, VT – Certified Annual Exam 2023

2023 NSP Eastern Division Certified Annual Examination

Killington Ski area is excited to host the Eastern Division’s Certified Programs annual exam. The NSP Certified exam will test the six core components over three days. The annual meeting will be held on Sunday morning. Limited COVID19 protocols will be in place. It is highly recommended to be vaccinated with a booster shot.  Sanitizing all equipment, and social distancing may be asked of you, please be cognizant of others peoples needs and risk levels.

Due to the challenges of increased participation, the annual exam will have some components examining early in the event to maintain opportunities for all. All existing Certified members are asked to attend and participate with the examination. Please, civilian jackets only – No crosses.

Lodging and Registration 

Lodging reservations are made on this platform, and ALL are asked to register every attendee for the event. Please review all price packages. Overflow or less expensive options can be found on the access road into Killington.  We would suggest the Killington Mountain Lodge, the Summit Lodge, or another option in Rutland, VT. Recognize that this platform takes all money totaled and immediately bills your credit card.

Killington will issue lift tickets based on this registration, so all participants MUST be registered, regardless of where you choose to lodge.  Tickets will be issued at the event check-in desk. Do NOT go to the ticket booth.

After adding Lodging selections, use the “Return to Event List” button to build a CART with additional purchases, such as Certified Ball caps and event Tee Shirts.

NOTE: If you purchase lodging through this platform, any CHANGES to those arrangements must be made by contacting Kate Tornese at kate@easterndivisionnsp.org – do NOT contact Killington directly.

UPDATE 1/20/23: We were able to secure some additional rooms for Wednesday night arrival.  If you purchased a ticket for Thursday arrival and would like to upgrade, please contact Kate:  kate@easterndivisionnsp.org

Schedule

Wednesday – early arrival – ORM, LAR, AVY components

Thursday – ORM, AVY, and LAR as scheduled. Recerts 1-5 PM

Friday – S&T and, depending on time – Lift Evac/LAR

Saturday – OEC written exam early, OEC Practical component in the morning with Bystander done immediately after.  Complete any remaining components by day’s end. Banquet Saturday evening.

Sunday – Annual meeting – 8AM start so most are on the road by lunch.

Recerts:

We have a large number of patrollers re-certifying this year and ask all to do it early or, reach out and let Eric Kreckel know in advance so he can have staff on hand to judge. March 16th 1-5P.

Banquet Buffet

The Banquet will be a buffet with choices for varying dietary needs, but please indicate any specific dietary restrictions you have in the registration form.  Tickets will be issued at check-in.

Certified Hot Tip – Killington resort is now cashless and only works with credit or debit cards.  Plan ahead and have cards to pay for food, drinks, and Killington gear.
